Polymeric and Biomaterial-Based Systems

Design and synthesis of functional polymers and biomaterials for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, including controlled and targeted drug delivery.

Domb Lab
Polymeric and Biomaterial-Based Systems

Research in this area focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of functional polymers and biomaterials for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. The research includes the development of biodegradable and bioactive polymers, polymeric drug carriers, drug–polymer conjugates, nanoparticles, hydrogels, and injectable polymeric systems.

A major focus is the use of polymeric materials to enable controlled and sustained drug delivery, targeted delivery, and improved delivery of therapeutic agents. The group also investigates polymer-based systems for tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, gene delivery, and other biomedical applications.

The research combines polymer synthesis and chemical modification with the study of material properties and drug–polymer interactions, aiming to develop functional biomaterials with properties tailored to specific pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.
